It also aims to equip students through knowledge based on relevance to the twenty first century.
Journalism Department celebrated National Journalism Day and world television day on December 10, 2021.
Journalism day is celebrated to honor the Press Council of India (PCI), which was established on the same day 55 years ago. The PCI was constructed as an instrument to not only keeps a check on the quality of reportage in the country but also to ensure independent journalism.
To commemorate the same, Journalism department conducted various competitions such as photography and debate competitions. For photography competition the theme was ‘our college’ and for debate competitions the topics were ‘Is it good or bad to post personal content on social media’ and ‘Does television content affect you positively or negatively’.
To memorialize World television day ‘News reading’ competition was held, where Journalism students had to take a current affair topic and prepare a news bulletin on the same and make a video of it. Active participation was observed in this competition.
This was a great learning experience told by the students. Learning outcome of this was confidence, communication skills and much more.
